Boy in the striped pyjamas last chapters

Today we finish off our analysis of the text of "Boy in the striped Pyjamas"

We will study some questions for chapters 15-19.
Please work in small groups (max. 4 students)
Here they are as text and as a document:

Discuss
1 What new things do we learn about Lieutenant
Kotler?

2 Why doesn't Bruno stand up for Shmuel? What would have happened if he had?

3 Shmuel sees the camp from the inside and the people closest to him all disappear. How does be deal with this?

4 Why is Lieutenant Kotler transferred?

5 Gretel tries to explain to Bruno about the fence. Does her explanation make sense to him? Do you think she understands it herself?

6 What does Bruno's disappearance do to his family?

Finally, I want to talk to each one of you individually aboout how you found the end of the book.

On Monday we shall see the film of "Boy in the striped pyjamas". The film starts at 12.45 (as usual) and finishes at 14.20. You will miss 15 minutes of psychology.

On Tuesday week 51 you will discuss with me in small groups the differences between the film and book. At the same time we will have some Christmas "fika".

Oral presentations

Today we are going to do the first half of the oral presentations.

You should give some feedback for ONE presentation.
Here is the document .

I will also give it to you on paper as I don't want people playing with the computer.

While the presentation is going on  you should answer the 1 X 2 questions. Give them to the presenters.

At the moment we have 5 presentations today ranging from the film "Hunger Games" to a twerking "Miley Cyrus"

Some people managed the deadline and others didn't!

Presentation tomorrow

Today is the last day to be ready to present tomorrow.

Welcome back to a new week.
It will soon be Christmas.

By the end of today three things should be done:

  • The presentation should be complete and a copy sent to me

  •  5 questions (1 X 2) about your presentation should be complete and sent to me

  • You should practise your presentation so that you know who is presenting which part. ALL the people in the group must be active during the presentation.

When you are ready then use your time to either :-

Write your diary

Read the last chapters of "Boy in the striped Pyjamas" for next Tuesday.

Those who haven't spoken to me about their young people and money essay can also do so today.

Remember Carpe Diem
